cork1958
Not sure if this is the correct forum, so if not, could a mod please move it. Anyway, I use the page below as a kind of screen saver, for when I'm gone for just a bit, due to the fact it refreshes every 2 minutes, but very recently it has caused issues either loading or crashing, if I wait long enough. Anyone have any idea why or have the same issue. Only addons I have are Easylist tracking protection and the stop Google tracking addon. I'm on Windows 7/SP1, fully updated. http://content.usatoday.com/sportsdata/scores Thank you Edit: Can't show an image of the page error because the page isn't fully loading before crashing and saves/uploads the image as a jp and not a jpg! Either that, or the upload tool here is screwing it up as I can view the image correctly on my computer and it does have the extension jpg on computer. XerXis
Seems like a badly written javascript, it also makes chrome very slow and running a core at 100%. edit: after about a minute chrome crashes. So yeah, just very bad programming :)
Roger H. Veteran Posted September 19, 2014 Veteran Share Posted September 19, 2014 Yeah, crashes my IE also.
cork1958
Just tried it in the newest Firefox, 32.0.2. Doesn't seem to have an issue there!
Max Norris
Just fired it up in a VM, Win 7SP1 x64 IE11 safe mode x64. Yep, splattage too. Also noticing the same as XerXis above, the one Chrome process for that page takes a decent hit on one of the CPU cores non stop.. doesn't sound like the site's script is very well written. cork1958
Topic is marked as solved and gave credit to XerXis for being first to respond!! :) Exactly what I was thinking too, especially when I was on that page yesterday on wife's slow POS computer. Hers was running REAL slow and thought I had picked some bug from that page but a scan found nothing. Thank you all
cork1958
I e-mailed them yesterday after seeing that this wasn't effecting just me. Seems they have reverted back to the old design already! :) http://content.usatoday.com/sportsdata/scores
