Dreamspell
Greetings. My laptop is dying and i'm planning to build a new computer. I've been out of the hardware loop a bit so I would like some advice. Let me tell you what i'm aiming for: A mid-to-high end Haswell i5 Intel processor and a reasonably priced compatible motherboard for it and a GeForce 770, but also for a 970 which I might save up for instead. 8 GB RAM config and a power supply to support all of those things which isn't overkill wattage. Thanks in advance.

Praetor
well, an SSD is a must this days because it will make your system fly. About mainboards: i do have a good experience with Asus and Gigabyte mainboards, so i do recommend those; more RAM is only necessary if you are doing anything RAM extensive, like running VMs, for example. a budget is a must as well. I dunno what are the current stores in the place you live, thought.
+Raze Subscriber² Posted October 2, 2014 Subscriber² Share Posted October 2, 2014 I recently updated my desktop with these items and I have been very pleased with the performance and reliability/stability. Not necessarily recommending Newegg (I purchased some items there, just using the site to show the items). Dreamspell
I'll be buying from Amazon US. I have about $450 US for the motherboard, CPU, RAM and power supply. I'll be buying the other components later in the year.
Dreamspell
I've chosen the Intel Core i5-4670 and Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB Kit (1600MHz). Any other recommendations for the other parts? Planning to buy the parts this morning.
