NeoTrunks
I've been running slackware 9.1 for awhile (gentoo bit me in the ass really hard). I wanted to know how to get GTK apps to take the appearance of the KDE theme I'm currently running. So far, I'm only using Keramik, because it looks nice. Anyway, GTK apps like Firebird and Gaim run with that ugly gray default GTK interface. I think in Knoppix, Gaim looked like Keramik. I think anyway. I just want GTK themes to take the KDE theme running. Is that possible?
Danrarbc
Is this going to do what you want?
NeoTrunks
I tried it out, though I can't seem to get it to work. Is this supposed to work like the wimp theme for windows?
Danrarbc
It says it's supposed to search for a matching GTK version of a theme by comparing the names. For instance applying Keramik in KDE will apply Geramik to GTK apps, even though the names aren't identical. In a way yes I guess it's similar to wimp. I haven't tried it myself though. I rarely use the QT apps I have, let alone the whole DE.
metal_dragen Veteran Posted December 15, 2003 Veteran Share Posted December 15, 2003 It's possible in some respects, but the two theme formats are very different and are not compatible with each other (so it's possible as far as a port like Geramik goes). I'd recommend just surfing http://art.gnome.org and finding a GTK theme you like and use it.

Danrarbc
Thanks dewy, I didn't know about that file selector patch. Love it :) But I don't think that's what Neo is looking for.
Mike Douglas
that what you are after? - http://gooeylinux.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=13 - That link will no longer work. Danrarbc
I got in just before it shut down then. Here's what the topic dewy linked to is about, the topic described the install process.
