Which of these do you like better?...aesthetically

Recommended Posts

I'm going to do a console sized build. Not many such cases will actually hold a full sized 980 GTX card. So unless I want an ugly cube or tower, the options are fewer but I really....really like both of these cases out of all the ones I've been search for.

The Syber on the right would be a custom Pre-built....which is fine cause I priced out all the parts and it's about the same if I bought them separately. All the other console sized OEM builds like the Alpha or SBX are too weak for my tastes or don't support full sized cards.

Part for part, the Syber on the right is actually the better deal which includes freebies. But aesthetically, which would you prefer to sit next to your PS4 or Xbox?

I like the LED Dial and plexi sides of the M8 but it's also over an inch thicker, wider and over 2 inches longer. I can't find any interior pics of the Syber but it's probably a cheap plastic case but it's smaller and looks inline of a console for my preference

they both look good. would be easier to chose if we knew how your living room or wherever you wanna place it would look like....

i much prefer the white one.  it does look like custom console.

the one on the left is looking weird to me (that ugly red, and front botton)   - not my style.

Hi,

That is a really tough choice. IF you intend on buying the controller then I would say the "white" unit as everything seems to fit together as a package else the "Black" one has a unique design. Cannot go wrong with either of them.

Honestly, I don't care for either. Thats my opinion though and shouldn't affect your choice.

Just ensure you have adequate cooling if you are shoving a 980 in this and ramming it into an entertainment center. I'd rather an ugly case I can hide behind the center with huge 200mm slow-turning, quiet fans.

You do realize most of those on that page won't even carry a full size graphics card right? That was kinda the point mentioned in the OP.

There are not really that many ITX cases the size of a Falcon Tiki or Asus G20 that will fit a 10.5 inch or so graphics card without being a Cube or traditional tower shape. Those 2 were the more different ones that may be more fitting on a shelf full of consoles...PS3, PS4, Dreamcast..etc. In other words, 4 inch height, 13 x 13 inches roughly. The Tiki from Northwest Falcon is very quiet and high end and the G20 is one of the most efficient small form factor builds there is atm, so it's certainly possible to do similar but to find a good 3rd party case to equal the custom ones is the problem. I really don't want the bland traditional HTPC case...they often have square vents that make the top ugly, too flat and boring and rattle like a tin can if you tap on it.

Plus those linked are just that... plain black, thin aluminum cases. I had a couple of HTPC cases in the past like Silverstone and Lian Li and they are flimsy, thin and usually single slot or low profile cards only. I want something that feels solid...even plastic feels more solid than many of those ultra thin aluminum shoe boxes are. The sexiest HTPC case I've seen that had some potential is Seacom FC10 fanless case but it's hard to find in silver and very expensive.

I must admit, from the 2 pics you supplied, I prefer the white one, if it has an optical drive bay, throw in a blu ray drive and it could replace your existing bd/dvd players as well (freeing up hdmi ports)
