MegaManXcalibur
When it comes to playing strategy games there are some really nasty things you can do. I'm not talking so much about zergling rushes (although that is a mean trick) but more on the lines of doing something that other people normally don't. Here is one of my favorite ones.... Game: Dark Reign Strategy: One side on this game is called the Freedom Guard. The Freedom Guard have a nice little building that allows you to phase some units underground (so the enemy can't see them). You can also upgrade this building and it will give you a phase runner, which is a transport unit that allows you to move 5 units underground. These transports are really nice because the enemy can't see or attack them so you can put a handful of units anywhere you want. Now each building is restricted to having only one phase runner which makes up for their overly high strategic value. But if you have the land you can build about 10 of these buildings, which will allow you to transport 50 units wherever you want. The other thing about phase runners is that they can see what is directly above them, so you find the enemies production center (vehicle facotry, and barrack) with them. When you know where there production facilites are move your phase runners around their buildings and then tell all the phase runners to unload their units. Bam! You not have 50 units (if your me it's the biggest tank you got) right in the heart of their base. Happily most of the defensive structures are located around the outside of the base so you get an easy victory 9 times out of 10. Of coarse this trick can kind of apply to another game.... Game: Command and Conquer Tiberian Sun Strategy: It's a similar trick to the one above. Nod has their underground transport units. They can carry 5 infantry units. Load up a ton of these unerground APC's with cyborgs and rocket infantry, and let them loose in the enemy base. Although unlike Dark Reign the enemy can put down concrete to stop you from surfacing in their base so it's not nearly as effective. So what are some of your nasty little tricks for strategy games?
