I burned the 3 cds and now dont know what to do. I put in the first cd while in winxp and nothing happens. the computer doesnt reconize the cd or something, nothing shows up on the drive i put the cd in. Am i missing something? or did i download the wrong thing?
betasp
the cds are bootable. If burned correctly they will initialize upon reboot. Leave it in your drive and restart your computer.

kyro
I guess this is UR first Xperience with Linux . And i also take it that u have good hardware. I would strongly suggest you get a software called Virtual PC http://www.microsoft.com/WindowsXP/expertz...03october13.asp or VMWARE 's works station http://www.vmware.com/ This are SoftwareEmulator of a VirtualPC . Linux works great in this software , without hurting ur Current OS config . The only prob is it takes approx 100MB (depends on ur selection). markwolfe Veteran Posted December 15, 2003 Veteran Share Posted December 15, 2003 When you burned the CDs, you didn't burn the files to the CD, did you? So when you open them in Windows, you see one big "xxxxxxxxxx.iso" file? The .iso format is basically an IMAGE of the entore CD, so it contains all the files (sort of like an un-compressed .zip file). Almost all CD-burning software recognizes that you cna burn a correct CD from an .iso image. I don't think that the default XP drag method will burn it as a full CD, though. Check that. Then, look for other things (like boot order). Also, you can make a boot floppy, and boot the floppy to install from CD (the instructions are at Mandrake's website, I am sure) Good Luck!
