muzzle79
I'm interested in installing suse 9.0 but seing as i just bought 8.2 in may i don't want to buy another install set. My question is i know you can ftp install suse.. i've even copied the whole 9.0 ftp install dir to a local networked pc so it'll be faster. Now the question is what is the easiest way of installing it? Can i Boot into 8.2 and tell it to update ? or should i just wipe the install and start with a boot cd. *btw* this is the hp laptop in my sig i'm using suse on. Once again sorry for my total lack ot linux knowledge but i'm eager to learn.
muzzle79
alright i ended up buring the boot.iso, rebooting the pc and hitting escape at the installation / boot option screen. It brought me to a text based interface where i typed linux install=ftp://192.168.1.111 aand it started right up and brought me to the great yast install interface.
