34

Has anyone got a 21:9 34? monitor they can share some pictures of running some apps? I currently have two 24? Samsung S24D590PLX and I am thinking of consolidating to something like a LG Flatron 34UC97-P but I wanted to see what the work space is like.

I watch a lot of TV on the computer so I?d be interested in seeing a video snapped to half the vertical left side of the monitor and a web browser to right side. I know I will expect to see some black borders from the video but I want to know how bad it is before I go spending almost a grand on a new monitor. I know it depends on the aspect ratio of the video, some maybe post a couple of different photos.

Anyone else moved from dual screen setup to a super-wide and watch a lot of TV on the monitor, what are your thoughts, do you like? what are the negatives?

Much appreciation in advance!! J

A neowin member did a review on it. I am sure if you ask him nicely he'll give some sample image.

I plan to get a 34" ultrawide monitor soon myself. Currently using a Asus 29" ultrawide and love it.

At $1,000 its a steep price tag. I am still looking around and see if Dell, Asus or any other manufacturer

will release their own 34" Ultrawide.

I am keeping an eye on the AOC 34" Ultrawide. Its price tag is set at around $800 +/-.

And it looks nice.

Cheers dude, just what I wanted to see, although there's boarders, which I knew there would be, it's nice to see such a good sized image etc. I just ordered the LG Flatron 34UC97-P so very looking forward to using it now. I last had a Dell U3011, which was fine, but the curved edges on this will bring the left and right sides of the panel in, something I couldn't coupe with previously. Fingers crossed the curve is decent enough for my picky requirements! Thanks again!

Also how did hide the LG logo?

Black tape.

You can black tape the whole strip but I used an abrasive pad to custom brush the whole strip. The 34UC97 comes factory stock with a brushed strip with logo but the 34UM95 comes witha glossy bezel strip which I didn't like so bust out the pad and got to work.

I have a steady hand and am fairly good with detail work like this :p
