Jonny Wright
So I'm speccing up a new build and am tempted to go 4K but wanted others opinions. I mainly use my machine for development, photo and video editing. I currently have 2 x 22" but like the idea of a 4K instead (obviously I would love 2 x 4K but out of my budget!). Thoughts? +Warwagon MVC Posted November 30, 2014 MVC Share Posted November 30, 2014 I would do 2 instead of one. Its nice to be able to move something onto it's own monitor. +E.Worm Jimmy and goretsky 2 Share
Mindovermaster
More retail space is better than bells and whistles. Vvo and Hurricane Andrew 2 Share
DemonicHawk
Personally, I think the 4K would be better given that windows 10 will let you snap to all four corners. Having two monitors is nice, but for development and photo/video editing, I think the additional vertical space would be much more useful.

francescob
I tried two monitors and did not like it... The only logical answer then is to try three. Vvo, Krome, Hurricane Andrew and 2 others 5 Share

Xilo
The only logical answer then is to try three. Or four. :woot: To the OP, what you can do is get a 4k monitor and use display fusion to break it into 4 virtual 1080p monitors.
JaredFrost
I think the obvious answer is.... three monitors, buy the 4k and keep the two others on each side of the 4k.

dafox
Have you considered a monitor of a different aspect ratio? That one has different res versions but they get alot more expensive after the base model....
Lingwo
I'd go with two monitors. Especially if you will use the machine for development. I don't see the benefit for a 4K monitor unless you watch movies and game. +E.Worm Jimmy 1 Share
theyarecomingforyou
In the past I used to have multiple 24" monitors but moved onto a single 30" display (though I have a HDTV connected for media use). I much prefer having a single large display. I honestly think you'd find 22" monitors to be extremely limiting, especially for production use. +E.Worm Jimmy Subscriber¹ Posted November 30, 2014 Subscriber¹ Share Posted November 30, 2014 I much prefer 2 monitors. nice for development too. one screen for your photo or video you are working with, and one for the tools, and other stuff you want to run in parallel. that was my setup, and i enjoyed it. if you find monitors that are designed to be mounted side by side with little frame in between, it is great. Krome
The only logical answer then is to try three. lol this one cracks me up... if two does not work get another one... Looks like everyone likes 2 monitors or more... I been using two monitors and I am loving that way...
DreadPirateRoberts
If you are a gamer I'd wait and save up and get 3 monitors. However if you aren't a gamer and want it for other reasons just get the 2 monitors.
tsupersonic
It depends on what you want to do - I prefer two screens for productivity (work use - 3840x1080 resolution). At home, I have the option to use dual monitors, but I stick with just one monitor (1920x1080 resolution).
Lizardslap
why do they have to both be 22inch monitors I think you would be happier with just a bigger monitor once you get about 24 inches or more it feels better to look at instead of looking at a small box
TruckWEB
I'd go with 2 monitors, it's nice to be able to move windows on another screen. And don't forget that if you game, 4K require alot of GPU power....
