No Dual G4 Powerbook, the next one will most likely by a G5 PB, or at least a speed bump on the current G4's in the PB.

Wait until after January 24th, you'll find out what new Apple products are being released and what upgrades will be available. Including software revisions (MS Office, MS Virtual PC 7, iWrite).

iWrite, this is the newest name that Apple recently patented & trademarked...speculation is a Word Processor, but no-one knows for certain what this product will be (listed under Hardware & Software).

You don't know this. Apple has said they think the G4 still has a life in the laptops. They will be using them for a while. Not to mention I'd like to see you cool down that hot processor in a laptop.

yeah seen it! the x505.. very very cool but not the thing i'm after, it doesn't have built-in wifi, the harddrive is too small, and the screen isn't wide. :D

ok i got a call from Apple today, RM6500 (about US$1800) to repair the board. no way in hell i'm gonna spend $1800 to repair it, so yeah, i'm just gonna use it as a desktop and get the Sony Clie TR2! :)

 $1800 ??? oh god...

yes i know, what a ripoff.. :(

i got a question. my dad has a PowerBook G4 500MHz which he barely uses now, can i swap the board with mine?

i really really doubt it. if i am correct, by saying ur powerbook is the 1ghz one, then ur board is like totally different from ur dads. 2x agp vs 4x agp. 100 mhz system bus vs 133 system bus. more i/o has been added and the cpu is different. and even if its possible, its would cost quite a bit...
