Monitor Help

Recommended Posts

So I just got some new monitors for xmas and I'm not sure what cables to use. At the moment I'm using a VGA to HDMI on the left one and a HDMI to HDMI to the other. The monitors came with DVI cables. The ports on the monitors are DVI and HDMI. I would continue to use them like this but the VGA monitor (left) isn't as good quality (whites are as good) They're the same model monitor and same settings. On my graphics card I've got two VGA one HDMI and one Display port 1.2. So what should I do? Thank you.

Only to look for Displayport to HDMI converter cable, obviously,   if you need to used both monitors.

With that adapter, you then use standard HDMI cables on both monitors.

Bam, done.

PS.  you can also use DP to DVI,  but why bother?   DVI is being completely outphased by HDMI and DP...

That's what i started looking at. So the best option would be to use a DP to HDMI on one and HDMI to HDMI on the other

its more like DP to HDMI adapter PLUS HDMI cable      and a second HDMI cable.

i did not see DP to HDMI cables, and even the adapters are hard to find in stores!   only online.

don't forget to press "mark solved" on my first post.

though, i assume you would have solved it yourself anyway, so it does not really matter :)
