Running XBOX Games on PC?

Recommended Posts

You are sorely mistaken then, because it is possible. Like Ruciz said, anything is possible. That said, there is a working non-hoax Xbox emulator for the PC called Xeon, that actaully runs Halo in it's current iteration...just with graphical and sound errors, but it is playable and thats what counts. You can check it out in the NGEmu forums. The site is down right now I believe. Another Xbox emulator that is more promising is CXBX by Caustik. It doesn't play any commericial games yet, but it's been updated more than Xeon and has greater support from the Xbox scene.

^ I so second that.

what i meant was people started talking about the hard drive in it etc.

People are free to discuss relative subjects, or to spam.

I think you can see which of those lines this thread is currently going down.

Personally, if I were a mod, as soon as I had seen a thread had been answered, I'd close it. I dont see the point in keeping threads open after they have been answered just for them to be spammed out.

yeah but for something like this there isnt realy a yes/no answer as you can clearly see. Some people say yes, some say no.

There is a yes / no answer BECAUSE NOBODY IS PLAYING THERE XBOX GAMES ON THEIR PC.

The answer is NO - it cant be done.

I'd love to see a 'yes' answer that categorically states that they are playing their Xbox games on their PC. Possible future longhorn integration is not a 'yes' answer by any stretch of the imagination, its a 'maybe' and that 'maybe' is placed two or three years in the future before we find out.

but then someone said just up there that you can get an emulator that plays halo. so therefore theres some truth in it. and in the future the answer will probably be yes . . . who knows someone in the world could be doing it right now.

Forster...

At present: NO

In future: YES

Everything eventually get working, given time.

Wow, you can see the future?

Nice one, would love to see next weeks lottery numbers ;)

I do think that it is inevitable, but I see it being when Xbox 2 is out, and when the original is outdated.

Oh hell yeah, I totally agree. It is possible, but completely unfeasable at the moment. The things that will change are the understanding of the system, the speed of the host machine, and availability of the tools required.

Hell, Dreamcast emulation is still a long way from perfect (either that or I am behind the times now).

And I can see the future! Well, the obvious parts anyhow ;)

he means that they develop x box games on a pc. so most likely will be able to run the code on those PCs. there was a picture on toms hardware once of an X Box PC (for developing)

Jeez this pops up so frequently.

A PC CAN emulate some of the XBOX functions. But it is slow, unreliable and under development. It is certainly not usable.

And the XBOX being essentially a PC... It shares a number hardware and software traits (the 2000 kernel) but it is HEAVILY modified. And the XBOX drive is not a stock PC drive, it is once again, heavily modified.

When cxbx is completed xbox games will run much faster on a pc than on a xbox because it doesn't really emulate the xbox. Since the xbox uses a intel pentium processor emulating it on a pc would be rather fast.

yeah i was going to say that a pc can have faster graphics cards, faster processor and more ram its going to be faster.

the difference is that the pc is a multitasking machine, x-box in the other hand is an optimized machine for just one task, run the game

dont normal drives (PC Drives) or is that they write inside out. yeah but the pc would still be a bit quicker even though its a multitasking machine.

how so? please, back up your statements with techinical references that support what are you saying
