Christmas Flu

Recommended Posts

Anyone watch national news last year around Thanksgiving last year and hear something about a school that had histoplasmosis in Indiana? Yeah, that was my school. And it was all because they didn't clean the bird $hit out of the ventilation system. I didn't get it very badly, but a lot of my friends did... Practically every person who had it had to be hospitalized. 3/4 of the school ended up getting it, and I think there was maybe one or 2 fatalities. Thing is, it makes yo very sick, almost pneumonia sick, very high fever, ear problems, seizures. And mild brain damage to some. I dunno if anyone had any brain damage, but that was the worst weeks of any of our lives.

lol the flu shot doesn't protect you against everything you know. a friend of mine who got her flu shot got so sick she had to go to the hospital and they stuck an iv in her.

I heard on the news that the best way to not get a flu is to wash your hands constantly. You pick up so many germs just from touching things like a door handle, cellphone, and especially money.

That truly stinks bud, I really hope you get well before Christmas. Try this: Drink Lemon Tea, and have a bowl off Boiling water, then have a little cup of cold water, and drip some cold water in the boiling water, so it creates steam, and breathe the steam in, it seems to make me feel a bit better :)

Wash your hands constantly? Then you won't keep your immune system on its toes.

Exactly. I'll wash my hands when they're dirty, not when I touch something that might have germs on it. When I get sick, I don't take anything for it unless I'm extremely sick, in which case I really don't take much medicine anyway. I've got an immune system for a reason.

I hardly ever get sick now, and even when I do get sick, it's usually quite mild and goes away within a day.
