semifamous
the only thing i don't like is it takes a while to read all the id3 tags for my songs and when you have thousands it takes a whilebut i guess its worth it b/c i would rather have id3 tags than just the filenames Winamp Preferences -> Titles -> Uncheck "Use Advanced title formatting when possible" and see if that works. If that doesn't work, then check the box again, but tell it to just use %filename% in the box. That will just show the filename in the Winamp Playlist. If you don't want it to waste a bunch of CPU reading ID3 tags when you load files, select the third option in the first list on that window. "Read metadata only when file(s) are played." Sure, it'll read the ID3 tags, but it won't show them to you.
ziper
Winamp5 is really buggy, i haveto uncheck lotsa options to make it start. I know other ppls that got the same problem. Its funny since everything worked really fine back in the beta version, ive juse experienced this with final.
speedy_kevin
It's not that buggy for me. Never had any problems with it. Winamp 5 is great, but the site has some ugly colours.

bkellner
?? Snazzy new look! ?? Groovy new features! ?? Most things actually work! ?? Hi quality ripping and burning with Winamp Pro Read the third one down, it's on winamp's webpage. Gotta love nu:psoft! :p By the way, Winamp5 runs fine for me. Don't need to uncheck anything to get it to work, and it has never crashed on me (even on the betas). Maybe it':o just you :o The webpage looks fine to me, no text too small. Check your browser settings?
Nightburn
For those of you with winamp5 problems, try uninstalling it and reinstalling it completely fresh. I had to do that after one of the betas to get it to stop crashing.
Trust
I said this before in another winamp site thread... to me the site sux... I dont likes the colors and that oldies style... looks old and cheap...
bkellner
For a site you'd probably only visit once to download Winamp5, you guys sure do complain a lot. Just download it from betanews.com if it bothers you that badly.

Blodia
I'm still using winamp 2.91. Best winamp in my opinion..the other winamps are too bloated..I tried 5, it beats 3 but doesnt beat 2.
Cube
I'm still using winamp 2.91. Best winamp in my opinion..the other winamps are too bloated..I tried 5, it beats 3 but doesnt beat 2. agreed. winamp 2.91 here, anything higher bogs the system down. Till I get a new pc I'll stick with winamp2 the site looks nice tho.
Sekyal
I think the new site is a tremendous improvement over the old one. Plus nice to see something fresh. However I especially like the skins pages since they load much faster for me, even if the screenshots are a bit smaller. Winamp5 is a winner for sure though. WA3 sucked beyond comparison, but now I can have the steadiness of WA2 with the look of 3 .
Xeonic
Yea, Ive been using Winamp for forever, and 5 is by far the best version...WA3 sucked so badly, and they knew it. WA5 has the speed of 2 and the look and feel of 3, all packaged nicely together. I lub it!
gabadoo
i like winamp but it fails to give me the advanced media library i desire. even though windows media player 9 is not perfect i think its far more advanced than winamp. The skin is sick for winamp 5 but it ****es me off that it doesnt read files the way wmp9 reads them. for all my music the media info is found for my music. winamp5 doesnt read it correctly. theyre tring i really like the media library but it needs some imporvement. if it read wmp9 tags and mdia info, if it could organize songs into folders and if it could find media info for files it would be a killer app.
