Looking for M.2 (NGFF) SSD for laptop... Is it worth it?

Hi everyone,

I have a Lenovo Y510P

I want to add a m.2 ssd but as you see in the attached file, my laptop doesnt have a connector. How can i purchase this item and from where ? Thanks

No that is m.2 NGFF with SATA interface. i have the same laptop but it did came with a connector.

 

As where to get the connector I don't know but before I try to solder on something I would check if the BIOS and mainboard support the m.2, or that is just a leftover placeholder for a different model.

Woot. I never updated into this. I ended up buying an m.2 SSD and it's been working like a charm! It's going to run for its second year now! The only bad thing was that I bought it longer than it should (but it works anyways). So it doesn't fit correctly (It's kind of diagonally positioned).
