.Ruby
I'm looking for mobile device that can run power off of usb via a car charging adapter, I know some thinkpads will do this. If I wanted to do some work in my car while i wait would the surface be an ideal work machine or should I opt for a thinkpad yoga with a fully adjustable hinge? I'm also curious if the Surface is just as usable like any other laptop as far typing. The material on the keyboard doesn't seem like one I've ever used before, it was felt off putting tbh. But I'm sure that may change with usage Some feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Hum
What programming language ? http://superuser.com/questions/511152/is-it-possible-to-do-any-programming-on-the-microsoft-surface-rt I found an app called codebox that can compile and run programs in many languages for Windows tablet. I just tested it so don't know what are the limits...

Osiris
Not sure about the car part, don't see why not with the right accessories but I get 7-8 hours off mine so should get you through a day without the need for using the car. I'm mainly a consultant but still do some development and coding and I have used the SP3 for just that - mainly while away from the office for day or overnight trips. With the bigger screen its a lot easier to do these tasks then it was on the Sp2. You can definitely type and code quicker on a full size keyboard but I've gotten quite use to the typecover and for me I have no problems relying on and working off it. This is probably the most contentious area for the SP3 as some just don't feel the keyboard is a suitable replacement, in my opinion you are unlikely to find out if this is the case for you from a quick play in store so might be worth seeing if the MS store in your locale offers 14 day returns that way you can get the pro and if its not for you return it.. Likewise for the kickstand, I have yet to find a position I couldn't use or work on the pro with from airports, airplanes, coffee tables, hotels, lobbies etc. That being said I can't quite picture how you would effectively code in a car...for you the hardware keyboard of the yoga may have an advantage in this respect pending the position you work in. That's regarding the Surface RT, the Surface 3 runs full-blown Windows so any language should work. To avoid further confusion you might want to just specify pro, even though there is no surface 3 (only surface 2) people see surface without the pro part and just assume you mean the RT line. I took a swing you were referring to the pro since the yoga obviously runs a full version of windows (same as the SP3).

I'll check more into the yoga Thanks
