Flatty Share Posted September 2, 2001 Hello to you all (first post here :) I'll be synthetic: sometimes, when I try to use the "find" option (in a folder, on a drive, ...), Windows just drops a blank "alert" and nothing else... I've got a screenshot to help you better understand what I mean. Does it happen to anyone here?... Any solution? :) Bye! ||| Flatty |||
Steven P. Founder Share Posted September 2, 2001 It all depends on the version of XP you are running, earlier betas sucked when using that search feature (still sux) only now it works :D
Flatty Author Share Posted September 2, 2001 Well this is the latest one (2600) :( :s so I cannot really understand why!
Flatty Author Share Posted September 3, 2001 I noticed that now the search engine (Search Companion) does not work anymore. I've made a lot of reboot's, tried starting from a previous configuration, tried safe mode, ... nothing. When I press "Search", it simply does not search and drops the alert (blank alert... too bad). This happens every time, so I have a Windows XP without a "search" feature... The question is: is there a way to fix/restore it? :s :(
