sebaz
I recently bought a digital camera (canon sd100) and it works np with my mac and my pc w/Xp. That been said is there any way to mount the digital camera on the desktop so i can browse it like a disk (kinda like what the ipod does). I believe thats the only way i can import pics directly from my cam to PS 8.0. Otherwise i gotta move it to my HD with iphoto, then go with Photoshop. Is there anyway to mount my digi cam in mac os x 10.3?

Personally i much prefer this to having iPhoto run everytime!
sebaz
yea thats what im talking about, but i guess cameras with SD cards cant do it, kinda sux :(
kairon
I'm sure there is a way, there must be. I'd be interested in knowing this as well.
danbalsh
If you don't find a way to access it manually, you could use Image Capture in your Applications folder, it's MUCH faster than iPhoto.
havyn
It may actually be a setting on the camera...you have to use one of two formats. On my nikon cp4300 i have PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol) and Mass Storage, and only one mounts on the desktop. Try looking through your camera menus for an option like this. Fusion
Well I have a camera with an SD card and it mounts every time I connect the camera. In fact, I renamed the cards to Camera1 and Camera2 and the name stays every time it connects. It is very nice. So it either has to be your specific camera or a setting you are missing. shodan
Well seems there's a strange behaviour of different cameras on Mac OS X. I have a Fuji Finepix, it mounts pefectly but i can't rename it, I mean, i rename it but when i disconnect and reconnect it's again 'Untitled' ! :(
Southern Patriot
Why not simply get a USB adapter for the memory card? Then the memory card will mount as a drive. Usually a little faster than accessing the card through the camera anyway.
