1920 X 1080 touch or 2560 X 1440 non touch

Recommended Posts

I have both a 1920 touch monitor and a 2560 non touch and was just wondering which you guys would choose. The 1920 is obviously nice for touch but the 2560 resolution is so much sharper. Especially with Windows 10 on the horizon, would you guys choose the touch or non touch display?

Depends if the display panel is going to be in reach of your hands. No point of having a touch enabled device that's out of your reach.

if it is 24" and under -     get the touch, but only if you need touch   (touch is usually glossy though, so you cannot use it in a bright room with light source at the back)  (also , i never used touch on desktop - no need)

if it is 25+ inch -   get the high res.   1080 no longer look nice.

1440

You actually have both already, why do you care what any of us would prefer? Just asking :)

Which do you like best?

2560x1440 - touch screens are a gimmick on anything other than a phone or tablet in my opinion, it's not the greatest user experience... this might change with Windows 10 but I think you'd appreciate the space of the higher resolution display anyways.

Heh, yeah it was an impulse buy last year. I used it for a while then went back to my Dell 27".

If you game a lot and play twitch shooters\racing games. An 1080p 144hz g sync at a lower MS, might be a better option than 1440p Monitor. Don't think there's many 120hz 1440p monitors.  But if you don't care about that, go with 1440p.

I have a 27'' touchscreen AiO, all I use the touchscreen for is for quicker shutdown. Gestures like closing apps take way too long not to mention the digitizers they use are often garbage. Manufacturers are so-much-into-it that when I reboot the machine the touchscreen stops working and they never fixed that, they likely didn't even notice because none of them bothers adding features that work. Anyway if it's for gaming I'd wait for a decent 4K monitor since you can either play in 4K or just Full HD on it without jagged scaling (since full hd is exactly 1/4 of 4K resolution), with 2560x1440 instead you're stuck between 2560 or 1280.

Depends on where the pc is. I got a 24 inch 1920 x 1080p touch monitor . My pc is in my living room and the touch makes it easy for me to do things like check mail and quick websites while standing.

+1 for Non-touch  (Y)

My personal opinion, obviously. I cannot stand fingerprints on a monitor. Smartphone or tablet is OK, that's how it goes, but a monitor I game and work on, I'd go crazy with fingerprints on it.
