And many programs are compiled to be architecture independent. They'd all work if Microsoft released a simple update that disabled the check for signed code.

I'll consider signing it, but I can't right now.....it's almost 4 a.m., and I'm running on fumes....but I'll keep this in mind for when I wake up in a few hours. Thanks for the post, however, been following the RT fiasco for a long time now.
