Neo003
Deus Ex - Invisible War - Error message 'This game requires a video card with Pixel Shader v1.1'. This error means exactly what it says. Your video card must have Pixel Shader version 1.1 capability in order for the game engine to play. It will not work without a video card that supports this DirectX feature. If you receive this error message when attempting to start the game your only options are to upgrade your hardware or return the game to the point of purchase for a refund or exchange. Currently supported video cards include: nVidia - GeForce 3Ti, 4Ti, FX series - Note that GeForce 4 MX series is not supported! ATI Technologies - Radeon 8500, 9xxx series (Pixel Shader v1.1 required).
Neo003
1. Update your dx from whatever version you have to current DirectX 9.0b 2. Udate your nvidia to whatever version they have. then try to turn the game on again.

Syn1337
Nah just wont work so ill put it on one side till i can afford a better card, thanks for the help guys
Frost_311
He obviously dosent have the graphic card requirement You obviously don't pay attention, he has a supported card. He has a GeForce 4 Ti 4600 like he said. Currently supported video cards include: nVidia - GeForce 3Ti, 4Ti, FX series - Note that GeForce 4 MX series is not supported! ATI Technologies - Radeon 8500, 9xxx series (Pixel Shader v1.1 required) Only the MX series aren't supported, his Ti4600 should work fine! My solution would be to 1. Download the newest Detonator Drivers from Nvidia.com 2. Uninstall the game completely 3. Uninstall your video card drivers 4. Use a program such as http://www.guru3d.com/detonator-destroyer/ to remove any left over files 5. Reboot to clean any left-overs 6. Install the driver set you downloaded earlier 7. Reinstall the game, then the patch, then run it
Frost_311
Nah just wont work so ill put it on one side till i can afford a better card, thanks for the help guys You have above minimum spec for the game. You just need to clean out your drivers. Your card supports pixel shader 1.1 and will run the game fine... just follow the steps in my above post, good luck! JohnSK
I have a GeForce 4 TI 4200 and Deus Ex - The Invisble War works pretty well so the only problem is on the SW side - update DirectX and also install the latest ForceWare drivers from www.nvidia.com. john
DirtyLarry Veteran Posted December 18, 2003 Veteran Share Posted December 18, 2003 got the same problem, except my card is a lil older, geforce 2 gts pro. A little irritated at the moment. think ill wait for HL2 before I upgrade my box. i have problems with the game and i have a 5900 ultra... so i dont think it is his card or the drivers, IMO its a poorly written game that was released, end of story. and the patch added slight improvement (exactly 2 more fps for me actually) but nothing to jump up and down about. i have pretty much given up on the game myself... MegaManXcalibur
I had the exact same error message. My computer had an nVidea GeForce 4 MX (the only GeForce 4 card not support of coarse) so I went out and bought a Radeon 9600 XT and the game worked perfectly.
