Gotenks98
I am looking for an alternative for the Mac Mini to be used for home theater for video stream and such. I have recently gotten rid of cable so I wanted a second theater system for upstairs that does wireless at least AC, wired. Upgradeable to at least 16gb of ram. Can run Windows/Linux with a stretch goal of making it a hackintosh if possible otherwise just Windows and Linux. Has at least 4 USB ports for extra drives that can used for media. Lastly I know with the form factor it kind of makes gaming not even possible because of how big the cards are now but if it is possible thats a super stretch goal of this project. The reason I don't want an Mac mini is because I already have one for downstairs and don't want to pay the apple tax again on this thing.
Stoffel
I use an Intel NUC at home as a Home Theater They have pretty much everything you want. Nogib and +E.Worm Jimmy 2 Share
+Warwagon MVC Posted February 3, 2015 MVC Share Posted February 3, 2015 Well if you want a beast you can try a Gigabyte Brix Pro with a i7 4770R I have one for my couch. Sooo fast!. That is a barebones kit though. http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Intel-i7-4770R-Barebones-GB-BXi7-4770R/dp/B00HWP6CMG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1422990015&sr=8-1&keywords=GB-BXi7-4770R Aergan 1 Share
tagerd0g
I have the Silverstone RAVEN RV01 case for my htpc. It fits a mini-ITX motherboard and you can fit a graphics card up to 13" by using the included PCI-E riser card.
Robot Emas
I planning to buy Asus Vivo PC for my living room. Its beautiful. But considering the Intel NUC too because of the price. i like this mini desktop kind of things. Its a sign of the future of computing. +E.Worm Jimmy 1 Share
link6155
If you're on a tight budget, try the HP Stream Mini: link There is also the HP Pavilion Mini, which has better specs: link +E.Worm Jimmy 1 Share
