rageagainstmachine
Hi Folks, Bought one of these today, and transfer a 1.6G file. Was only getting 11.7MBps. is this normal? seemed a little slow to me. configuration is as follows, laptops hardwired to router, WD NAS hardwored to router. Router is sky sagemcom. Laptop is ( i think gigabit) but even if it wasnt, isnt that still a little slow? thanks G

Odom Member Posted February 7, 2015 Member Share Posted February 7, 2015 What speed is the switch on your router? On a Gig switch and copying from my NAS to my PC I get an average of 50MB/s - 80MB/s.

sc302 Veteran Posted February 9, 2015 Veteran Share Posted February 9, 2015 65MBps*8 is about 520Mbps. A lot better than the 100Mb/s line but not quite 1000Mb/s. I think he is hitting the limit of the drive vs the limit of the network.
