DeadEndAccount
So I'm looking at purchasing a Dell computer XPS 8700 (I can't be bothered building my own and dealing with the drama - I just want to take it out of the box and use it), but I've been out of the loop for quite some time and wondering whether the AMD R9 270 with 2GB memory is sufficient for what I need - I play the odd game of Simcity and Civilisation V along with video webcam capture and compression but nothing particularly strenuous like what many of the hard core gamers do on this forum. Is that video card enough grunt for Windows particularly with Windows 10 being released soon?

Windows 10 support will be there as well.
Unobscured Vision
"Drama building your own" ... so you'd rather spend 2x (usually more) money to build something that performs half as well? My apologies, but I could never justify that in any scenario. Educate yourself if you've never built your own machine before. It's not rocket science. You might find the experience rewarding, and you'll save yourself a lot of money -- which, incidentally, you could use to buy up-rated hardware if you so desire. Liquid cooling, a nicer case, etc. Everything comes with instructions, by the way. I also see you're a dedicated Apple User. That's fine -- a foray into the "Land of Dirty Hands" where us "PC Users" dwell. Fresh perspective, learning experience, etc. We'll be happy to chime in if you need guidance. Did you bother to read his post before going off on that rant? Liquid cooled hardware would be complete overkill for what he's trying to do. Unobscured Vision
It wasn't a rant. It was a "maybe, if he so desired" regarding the Liquid Cooling and other up-rated parts. It was meant, if anything, as encouragement to educate oneself and expand one's skill-set, and that We as a Community would be available for guidance. Boo Berry
If you're considering adding a card to a pre-built PC, always make sure your power supply can handle the additional load. Athlonite 1 Share
Noir Angel
Personally I much prefer doing my own builds (so I definitely get where you're coming from), nor am I a huge fan of AIO's as they aren't much fun to repair, but if that suits his needs it's his call to make.
