Updated: 12:52 p.m. ET Dec. 19, 2003LONDON - A haunted castle is a ghost story staple, but security guards at Britain's Hampton Court Palace think they've got the real thing.

Surveillance footage at King Henry the Eighth's one-time home shows a spooky figure shutting some fire doors that kept opening mysteriously.

Palace officials say they're at a loss to explain the eerie image, but insist it's not a Christmas hoax.

The 16th-century palace has a haunted history.

It's where the king's third wife, Jane Seymour, died, and where his fifth wife Catherine Howard was jailed for adultery.

One palace guard calls the whole situation "quite unnerving."

Since when was CCTV image quality so damn good?

well our companies CCTV images are similar to that in quality if not better.

Thats not the question here, but who is that person closing the doors. Staff, visitor or actually a ghost?

After doing some image anaylsis, it looks authentic. The face looks awful wierd, lots of white, pale looking colors. Also, the outfit resembles the dress from that time period. Spooky...
