+unabatedshagie Subscriber¹ Posted March 2, 2015 Subscriber¹ Share Posted March 2, 2015 I bought FH2 digitally on Saturday night, downloaded the game and went to play it on Sunday morning. There seems to be a mandatory update which is constantly failing. The error I'm getting is: There was a problem with the update. Forza Horizon 2 needs an update, but something went wrong. For help, visit xbox.com/xboxone/update/help. With the options to try again (which fails) or to check network connection, which comes back fine. I've tried doing a hard reset on my Xbox. I've tried deleting and redownloading the game. I've tried updating the game both on wifi and wired. I've performed the steps in the link on the error message. I've rebooted my router (BT Homehub 5) I've unplugged the console for 5 minutes and tried again. I've changed my DNS on the console from automatic to use Google's DNS. The only way I can play the game is to take the console offline, however, as soon as I put it back online the game tries to update and it fails. Does anyone have any ideas which I might not thought of to get the game to work?

I just thought I'd post here to see if I could get a few other ideas which might solve the issue quicker.
TAZMINATOR
Hmm.. not sure what to tell you but I guess you try to contact Forza support. FH2 works on my end. Maybe try again later lets say, 6 hours later or tomorrow. That way, xbox will connect to the game update server better later..
+unabatedshagie Subscriber¹ Posted March 2, 2015 Author Subscriber¹ Share Posted March 2, 2015 I've posted on the Forza forums too, I've also tried the update 6/7 times now since I bought the game on Saturday spread out over the nearly three days so I doubt it's a network issue on their end. Like I said, just posting here to see if anyone has any different ideas. I guess I'm probably just going to have to bite the bullet and phone them. DrunknMunky Veteran Posted March 2, 2015 Veteran Share Posted March 2, 2015 You could try installing the game while the console is not connected to the internet, and then connect once complete for the TU. X1 has a fight with itself when it comes to installing games and TUs.
