chanukah according to adam

Put on your yarmulke

Here comes Chanukah

So much funukah

To celebrate Chanukah

Chanukah is the festival of lights

Instead of one day of presents, we have eight crazy nights

When you feel like the only kid in town without a Christmas tree

Here's a list of people who are Jewish just like you and me

David Lee Roth lights the menorah

So do James Caan, Kirk Douglas, and the late Dinah Shore-ah

Guess who eats together at the Carnegie Deli

Bowser from Sha Na Na and Arthur Fonzerelli

Paul Newman's half Jewish, Goldie Hawn's half too

Put them together, what a fine lookin' Jew

You don't need "Deck The Halls" or "Jingle Bell Rock"

'Cause you can spin a dreidel with Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock- both Jewish

Put on your yarmulke

It's time for Chanukah

The owner of the Seattle Supersonicahs

Celebrates Chanukah

O.J. Simpson, not a Jew

But guess who is? Hall of famer Rod Carew- he converted

We got Ann Landers and her sister Dear Abby

Harrison Ford's a quarter Jewish- not too shabby

Some people think that Ebenezer Scrooge is

Well he's not, but guess who is

All three Stooges

So many Jews are in showbiz

Tom Cruise isn't, but I heard his agent is

Tell your friend Veronica

It's time to celebrate Chanukah

I hope I get a harmonicah

On this lovely, lovely Chanukah

So drink your gin and tonicah

And smoke your marijuanikah

If you really, really wannakah

Have a happy, happy, happy, happy Chanukah

Happy Chanukah

lol Im really the least religious jew you could find, my mom is jewish and that's absically the only thing that keeps me jewish :)

I eat pork, meat and milk... i dont do shabbat and all that stuff...

I just you know... feel like i need to respect my ancestors and bla bla bla...

But the one thing i prefer about hanukkah are the "sufganiot"... Basically they are traditional like doughnuts (with no whole in the middle) filled with some kind of sweet thing. They are delicious. I partied yesterday and ended up having the munchies so I ate about 6 of them :)

But best of all is that since im in an American School in Israel, well i get both holyday!

So im on break now until the 5th of january :)

Ritalin

I'm probably a less religious Jew than you. We don't celebrate anything at all except for Chanuka, and the only reason we do that is because the Christians get to celebrate Christmas and we feel left out. Also we like to eat the yummy food and my brothers like to light the candles because they're pyromaniacs.

We also usually do a mini Chistmas to for fun. And we do Easter to so we can eat the Chocolate. I don't get why you celebrate Easter when isn't that supposed to be when Christ died??????? Also, what has Chocolate and bunny's got to do with it???????

Happy Chanuka!!!

I know that here i go to the mall across the road and every food stand has sufganiot!

Nothing beats those for munchies!

Of course I am! The worst part is, I love the food! Though, I really could do without the looks when I sit down to some Lokshyna and Cottage Cheese (I grew up on that stuff... and most people think I'm insane for eating it!).

hehe!

do you eat kosher though? like follow the kashrut? not badatz or anything, just regular kashrut?

Well next time ill be eating a falafel, ill think about you guys!

Ritalin

No, sadly I don't... but I will tell you, I like Kosher food more than non-kosher food (just tastes better to me... like Kosher Hot Dogs vs non Kosher ones, etc). Unfortunately I like bacon... and sausage... it's about the only part of a pig I like... don't like ham... but I couldn't do without bacon and sausage. lol Oh, and I like eating cheese on my hambugers... and a lot of Italian food, so that too, breaks the rules. So no, I don't really follow all of them... but, because of my upbringing... I do follow some of them (just because I was raised on that type of food). :)

Yeah as I explained it was a mistake because I thought it was this year's thread after performing a search to prevent a duplicated topic... I didn't look at the date though :pinch:
