If you guys don't mind forking up some money, there's this thing called UareU Personal from http://www.digitalpersona.com which uses your fingerprint for such things. You can encrypt/decrypt at the touch of a finger. You can also use it to replace your passwords and such at the login screen and at whatever site you visit where a login is needed. I was fortunate enough to get one for free at the recent CES in Las Vegas. I find it very handy. :)

try this !!

Passwording a Folder In XP

Go to start/run, and type "control folders", click the View Tab

and uncheck the checkbox for "Use simple file sharing"

Rightclick any folder, and look on the "Sharing" tab for the settings you prefer.

Regulate who has access to specific folders.

Nope doesnt work

look theres Free, v.simple 3rd party apps out

two of them

they have hotkeys and everything password hidden etc all of it and they are free and v.simple to use

there called HiddenFolders

and PasswordFolders I think there made by the same person/ppl actually just search for apps like that.

Or Format your HDD, and convert your HDD to NTFS

NTFS lets you password protect folders etc, in windows withoput 3rd party apps

if your disk system is ntfs just password protect your login account then make a folder under YOUR "my documents" folder then right click it and go to properties, then under the sharing tab click the make this folder private option.

that way unless people know your password they cant access that dir.

It works for me perfect. All you do is make sure it is protected on startup and make you it activate when you close the program. and if you still can't avtivate it run FGKey in the (X:Program FilesWinAbilityFolder Guard NT) if thats where you have it installed. but the FGKey.exe enables and disables the protection. Just make sure you set your master pass by going to "File ---> Passwords" when your in the program.

P.S Try reading the help file once in a while, They are very HELPful.

Redrope:

- Type in "control folders" in Start/Run (without the quotes).

- Go to the "View" tab.

- At the very bottom of the scrolling box, you will see the option "Use simple file sharing" and simply uncheck it.

Hope this helps - it worked 1st time with me :rambo:
