123456789A
The chart is misleading. It started with Kinect for $499 and now you can still get the one with Kinect for $449, so the price has not really dropped that much. The chart may demonstrate consumers' preference for Xbox without Kinect, but it does not demonstrate a drastic price swing as it would have you believe. They then introduced a separate offering of Xbox without Kinect for $399. This is not a price drop, just an offering without the Kinect, which they sell separately now for $169. The $399 price dropped to $349 officially, so either way we're really looking at a $50 official price drop. Yes, it would probably have been a lot smarter for Microsoft to offer two versions from the beginning since a lot of people either don't want the Kinect or just buy on price alone. But there is a difference between a price drop and just offering a different configuration. vcfan 1 Share
ctebah
Not trying to get off topic here but where are all those "defining" kinect games that everyone said would make the Xbox One stand out? akav0id 1 Share

Since this SKU wasn't an option at the outset it was effectively a price drop for the line...
DrunknMunky Veteran Posted March 26, 2015 Veteran Share Posted March 26, 2015 Also consider that during the last quarter of the year, many e-tailers were including upto 5 games for those prices. Big loses going on to catch up on sales. Game just posted another profit warning last week too CFO is leaving in July as well, IIRC.
