Prince of Persia on GF2/GF4MX WORKABLE

Recommended Posts

You heard me right, there's a program that can disable pixel shaders and many other instructions an then lets you get into the game.

1. http://www.3dfxzone.it/dir/tools/3d_analyze/index.htm

You can grab yourself the 3D-Analyze v2.26.

2.Run the progam and set the program up exactly as the picture below

071203-new%20settings%20that%20work%20for%20POP%20with%20a%20gf4%20mx.JPG

But in 2.26 there are a few options missing out that i had to play w/myself to get mine to run correctly

basically all the same settings + u add skip the "pixel shader version 2.0" under pixel and vertex shader, set the value for venderid and device id to 0 unless u have the specific card's listed @ bottom of the app

Once you start the game it will ask if you want to continue click yes, if it ask for safe mode(which it shouldn't) click no

Once inside the game i'd suggest messing with your screen resolution, but 1st of all you have to run these as the following options Low, none, off, off, advanced--- triliniar, enable and high make sure if u still get the squiggily lines to mess w/the resolution again and apply till it removes them

Higher detail settings might make you suffer great lag , beware!

Enjoy! :)

it will only effect a little of the game where pixel and vertex shaders are used to do a special effect

oh, you mean just the entire shadowing and lighting system in the engine? :o

I have a geforce3 so I haven't tried it yet. I found the information from another message board on google. Maybe I will later on with my other computer that has a geforce4mx and take some screenshots

good that u can play the game with a gf2/gf4mx

but it still looks bad compared to my 9800 pro :D

hah, yeah, agreed. same here.

Although, nice find.. Many people were wishing for something like this. The quality hit is quite noticable, but not so much so that it affects the gameplay. It's still very playable, much better than before :) nice find.

lmao now i get this

Your videocard ? 3D-Analyze v2.2 - http://www.tommti-systems.com ? is not supported.

Your videocard does not support some required features ( MIN_SIMULTANEOUS_TEX_4 ).

Your videocard pixel shader version ? 0000 ? is below the minimum requirements.

Your videocard vertex shader version ? 0000 ? is below the minimum requirements.

and it used to be this

Why not just buy a new graphic card? It saves all that messing around .. Hell an ATi 9600Pro/XT costs around a hundred quid nowadays, which has more graphical processing power in its little finger (sorry an old term I use) than the gf2mx has altogether.

I know people dont want to spend vast amounts of money, but a hundred quid will hardly break the bank, whats that, the cost of 2-3 games?
