Tim Dorr Veteran Posted December 21, 2003 Veteran Share Posted December 21, 2003 I can't seem to find anything on google, but I seem to remember someone writing up something on how to replace Apple's .Mac/iDisk with your own server. Anyone have any info on this?
mac15
here you go, making your own webDAV server http://www.macdevcenter.com/pub/a/mac/2002...ade_dotmac.html

kairon
Is it possible to run an iDisk server thing on Windows so to access from my Mac?
Martog
Maybe if you use Apache on windows you can.
the evn show
iDisk uses WebDAV so you'd probably have more luck setting up a fake iDisk on Windows using a webdav server rather than http. they do exist, but I've never bothered to try. EDIT: you _could_ use apache with mod_dav i think, but that's overkill.
DjmUK
I'm not following - what's a .Mac/iDisk..? I know that .Mac is a service you can pay $100 per year and store your files on their server. I'm guessing that what this topic is about is setting up a web server (and/or FTP server)..? (if so, then I'll be reading those links :))
Martog
iDisk is the storage that you recieve from .Mac So they want to make a fake iDisk server for larger storage that can sync up just like a normal iDisk
