jedimasterk
I bought a copy of Linux Format with the Mandrake 9.2 DVD. I have a DVD player but Mandrake will not boot from DVD. Magazine says it should. Everything else works on DVD. What is wrong. My copies of Knoppix will boot, as well as Slackware and Gentoo from DVD ROM. Why not Mandrake 9.2. markwolfe Veteran Posted December 21, 2003 Veteran Share Posted December 21, 2003 Hmmmm... Reasons to NOT boot from DVD: 1) Not set/supported in BIOS (doesn't sound like this is it, as other things boot) 2) The DVD drive does not support booting (again, see #1) 3) The DVD is damaged (could be, I guess...) 4) The DVD is not a bootable one (probably this one) There may be other reasons, but these are the usual suspects.
