sojumk Posted January 29, 2002 Share Posted January 29, 2002 Trying to make my own custom start button on Stylebuilder and i can't seem to make a BMP image. On adobe photoshop, 1::on first try making all my images with transparent background->then saving BMP and pink area becomes totally white. 2::on second try i used bucket and painted the background with pink->saved to BMP and now i'm getting these little pink lines Can someone give me how to fix this prob? mDagar Posted January 29, 2002 Share Posted January 29, 2002 Save it as a PNG amd just replace the BMP or Delete the BMP. BMP do not support transparency (except 32 bit, but that a whole new story). Romsi Posted January 29, 2002 Share Posted January 29, 2002 It quite clear that you get those thin pink lines. Here is the answer: You are trying to create a picture and use the antialias effect. This effect "smooths" edges of your gfx by using the alpha channel (i.e. kind of transparency effect to creat a smooth gradient) Try the following: 1. Paint your Startbutton as you did. 2. Take the picture of your taskbar and place it behind the start button (now you have the right gradient) 3. save this picture as BMP or combine both layers 4. Mark the anything except the startbutton (lasso o.s.e.) 5. Replaced the mared area with pink color 6. save as bmp Now you don't get the effect any more.
