Richard Burtov Posted April 24, 2015 Share Posted April 24, 2015 A year ago I bought my 920 here in Russia. It came with Russian WinPho 8.0 and supported 4G and English (US). As I'm British I flashed the firmware to CV GB so that I had English (UK) as the default language, gained 4G support for UK but lost 4G support for Russia. Is there generic / dev firmware that will give me English (UK) as a default installation language and *all* radio options turned on so that I can use 4G wherever I travel in Europe? I've flashed the my 920 firmware with "RM-821 Global White Swap (059Q5C7)", the setup screen had English (UK), English (USA) and Russian as setup languages and my Russian SIM provider (Megafon) LTE service is recognised. I'll check the UK 4G when I return there next month but I'm confident that it will work. The phone went back to WinPho version 8.0 so all I need to do is install a bucketload of updates...... Richard Burtov Posted April 24, 2015 Author Share Posted April 24, 2015 Nothing more than a guess. It was the word "Global" that suggested it. It also listed a heck of a lot of setup languages at the initial setup screen. I may be completely wrong with that presumption but so far the results are what I've been looking for.
