aaron901
i'm typing this on a 14" 1GHz iBook now. umm.. what can i say... the only complain about this machine is that the trackpad button is a bit loud, it's pretty annoying if you use it often. :/
Phildeeze
I'm on an 800 MHz G3 iBook right now. I love it. And the trackpad button on mine is much quieter than the one on my Dell Inspiron. <edit>Also, if that's your first iPod, you'll love it.</edit> Congrats on a great new laptop! :D

Oh its for HER! Ah ok! I just hate them 14's against the 12's.. if there was a Resolution difference, fair enough but... :)
divinatum
i thought about a 14 inch model for a little bit, but my laptop now (p2 300) has a 12.1 and has a max res of 800x600 and is more than sufficant for my needs, plus i have a small desk.. i can barely fit my 17 inch monitor, direcTV box and all the other junk on my desk on it. :pinch:
kryptonik
Go with a 15" PowerBook. You won't have to upgrade for another 5 years with that. ;)

sethrd
Looks nice, but if I might add, you put "? 800MHz PowerPC G4" twice. Once near the top and once toward the bottom...
digitallaughter
I love my 12" g4 ibook... if your wanting a 14" one.. I would go for a pbook. Since the 12" and 14" ibooks have the same resolution... and the 14" looks funny :p
misecia
Wow, almost the same stats as my iBook, an excellent little machine :D Tho I have a 40 gig harddrive, 512 mb, 120 gig firewire drive and 20 gig iPod. All that extra work was well worth it.
thetman
quick quetion how does your ibook have 512mb of ram, it has 128 built in so you could only have 256 (128+ 128) 384 (128 + 256) or 640 (128 + 512) or 1152 (128+ 1024, yes i i have heard that the i book does support the 1gig pc2100 sticks)

angelrendon
I've also heard of this ibook G4 ram hack, but never seen any hard evidence. Sounds sketchy to me. I hope it's true though, I plan on getting an ibook next year.
thetman
look round the ibook section at macnn.com. i have seen some refrence there. i dont think it is a "hack" just apple didnt tell people that it supports the 1 gig sticks 1 bc they are expensive ~$400 and 2 to entice someone who would need that much to buy the powerbook
