thor777_au
Hi guys, Last level, Vlad is throwing TNT at me from on top of a roof. How to I drop the spike on to him? (as max says, like a dagger etc) ?? Cheers.

Demogorgon
i think you gotta shoot out the pins that hold the spike up there..
~Bull}{Dog~
Its like the first one really... Shoot some really big solid thing and watch it magically brake and kill the bad guy.. It would make a nice change if you could walk up to the head man, hold a shotgun to his/her head and pull the trigger. They die in one shot, their brains splattering the area around. That would be a much better way to get your revenge.

Bizkit
I thought it was a good way to end the game.
ElementFire
The ending fight in both the original too had something cooky like that, where you had to have insane sniping skills to take down the chopper. Ah well, but the game does have a great ending.
~Bull}{Dog~
,Dec 23 2003, 13:17] actually the spike dont kill Vlad, you need to kill him by yourself, but you like to rant dont you? I'm not ranting, it would just be nice to end a game normally without using some elaborate plan or method to kill someone in a really strange way. I've been playing games since the 80s and although we dont see the end of level "boss" as often now I still feel the end of game super human "baddie" is getting a bit boring. There are lots of things in games that bug me, but I'm only vocal about the games I really like. I didnt know you have to blindly support developers to show your feelings about a game.

Damn developers for trying to make an original approach!!!
~Bull}{Dog~
Thats my point, its NOT original. Think back to Half Life even, same thing there. You shoot the orange crystal things then shoot the big brown baby thing :p See what I mean? Its the same format. There will be other games that are similar but I cant think of any right now. The method is the same. Jedi Academy. The fight with Rosh. You kill the guys who are powering him up first then go for the main target. Slightly different setting but still similar.. I'm just going through my start menu here for ideas. Its a recurring theme which there is no arguement against. Its over used and totally unoriginal. Anyone that cant see that must not play many games. I play FAR too many games, I know about these things ;) If I had any kind of skill or dedication I'd make my own and that would show you all! hehe But thats not gonna happen. ~Bull}{Dog~
Thinking isnt the problem, I played POP closing my eyes during the visions :) Its just impossible situations and unrealistic circumstances that get me. If you are going for the sci-fi nothing makes sense world then fine. But if you want gritty realism in real world places then dont kill it at the end with a silly boss that feels as if the team just ran out of steam and put anything in at the end. threetonesun
yeah, now that I think about it, most games end like this. Fight something, then fight the weakened boss himself. Of coruse, if the boss was only as tough as the goons, it wouldn't be much fun.
~Bull}{Dog~
Well thats where things get interesting. If more games made you make moral choices and there was a reason not to murder everyone you see other than the police shooting at you till you change your clothes or get to a respray shop then things might be different. Say if the bad guy was a feeble old man who cowered before you when you put a Desert Eagle to his wrinkled forehead. What would you do? I'm thinking of Mafia now.. If you had a chance to kill the inside snitch and the prostitute in the Corleone Hotel or even try to talk to Salieri about the extra goods in the Cigare shipment (trying not to spoil it for anyone here) then things could have been so much cooler.
