mrchetsteadman
Hello folks, as you can see I've been here over a decade. Problem is, I haven't really kept up with technology like I used to. I am looking to build a system that I can game on, not heavilty because I have an XB1 and I'm about to buy a PS4. I'm looking for something to fit in a mini ATX case and as far as audio, I have the Klipsch 2.1 setup so I'm not looking for surround sound or anything. Any additional information, just ask! Edit: This is a nice case to start! http://www.amazon.com/AeroCool-MicroATX-Cases-DS-Cube-Black/dp/B00G3TVEH0/ref=pd_sim_sbs_147_29?ie=UTF8&refRID=0F6BVN3K45VBD9X3012K

So you want to reuse parts you have ok so you need a new AMD broad to fit in that case and that limits you because there are not many MicroATX that are good most have the 760G the ASRock 970M Pro3 looks ok your PSU that your going to use should have a 8 pin. Do you prefer a AMD GPU too? Maybe the Radeon R9 280 or better.

philcruicks
So your FX 8350 is a socket AM3+ CPU, so you need a mobo with that socket. This is the one Peter mentioned, and probably the best your gonna find features/specs/ports wise (though personally I'm not such a fan of ASRock as a make) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157582 SATA 6Gb/s which is important if your SSD is newer than about 2 years old as it'll most likely be a 6Gb/s drive. and yeh an Nvidia GTX 960 or AMD R9 280 would be a good shout GPU wise How much RAM do you have? if less than 8GB get more. That should be everything you need. Assuming you have KB, Mouse, Monitor etc.. already mrchetsteadman 1 Share

THe processor can handle anything and more RAM will help and the video card is awesome. Might pull the trigger today unless you guys have other options. So your SSD is a SATA 6Gb/s drive, so that ASRock mobo is a good fit, if you choose any other make sure its got SATA 6Gb/s, else you'll half the performance of the drive. 8GB is OK, but ideally you'd want 16GB these days, unfortunately the downfall of Micro ATX and small boards is a lack of slots, so you'd need 2 new 8GB DIMMs you can't just add another 2x4GB...I'd basically base this choice on how much cash you have once you've bought the other components. Corsair is always good IMO, I've got a set of XMS3's looking at getting the dominator's in my next build. But if your happy with your g-skill, stick with them. mrchetsteadman 1 Share
