Linux injustice

While everyone is entitled to their opinion I only take issue with Starman is that he shows his stupid (with half-assed attempts to save face) or his posts are pure flamebait. I tend to lean toward the latter.

He blames problems with X or driver issue only the entire OS/distro.

He attempts to prove his expertise by claiming to have used Linux since Minix in the mid-80s. Minix isn't Linux and the Linux kernel development hadn't even started yet.

For someone who writes drivers for a living (hardcore Unix/NT sh*t I believe) he very well could have solved the problem.

The whole Hello, World thing is funny

Then there's the whole OSX v Linux deal. Yet he forgets that

1. OSX = BSD (with contrib from FreeBSD community) + Mach, not NeXT +BSD because NeXT is BSD.

2. He forgets that the work was pretty much done on BSD and Mach but Linux was written from scratch (legal issues with AT&T/USL/Novell and UCBerkeley/BSDI)

3. For all the work done already which lead to Darwin, it's development sure took long enough (dev discussion date back to some of the earlier days of Linux).

I could go on and on but why? Who cares?

Oh and Starman, I dub thee Flamebait!

I use Mac, Linux and PC equally. I think each OS has their strengths and weaknesses, plus I like learning new things.

One OS can things better than one of the others and vice versa. Just because you don't know how to do something in

a particular OS doesn't mean you should flame it or spread lies about it.

I believe people are entitled to their opinion, but ignorance is just plain stupid. ;)

i think most people can see thru him, there is no way a heavy Unix user would rate a OS on its GUI. The best thing to do is to blow his accusations to the ground

MxxCon read this:

"No Racism, No Threatening, No (citing) Victimization (via PM) or Hateful posts / Retaliation of any kind against a member, or group of members."

Why put your neck on the line just to prove a point as lowly as this? You could get banned (again?), is it really worth it.

:ninja:

MxxCon - you notified me about that thread via PM, the flames between members and it was closed.

Yet you post a link to that thread and are victimizing a member based upon his comments/opinions - this is unacceptable at Neowin.

Where is the justice in that?, just because you don't like his comments/opinions - doesn't mean you start a thread retaliating against him.

Thread Closed

Radish?
