Keeping Wii U GamePad at 100% brightness?

Recommended Posts

The brightness setting is at 100% in Settings but as soon as I remove it from the dock, the brightness still drops around 10%.

Any ideas?

I know what the OP is talking about but "10% drop" is a bit exaggerated. It is a slight change. I think it is just a function of charging from mains power.

I'd say at least 5%. I don't think 10% is too exaggerated, to be honest.

Just checked my daughter's U pad (1st gen, day 1 launch console if that matters any), and pulled it off the dock, There was no noticeable drop in brightness. Asked her if she has ever seen this and she said no.

Perhaps a flaw with your gamepad.

That's my thought too. The NDS Lite had a higher brightness level which could only be used when attached to mains. Probably included with the later iterations, but I never owned them to confirm.

Maybe 5%, that is half what you originally said, so I think you were exaggerating a little bit.

Here is a video I did of mine:

You can see it is slight, but it is there.

So I take it there is no problem?

It's a slight problem but not the end of the world.
