Elliot B.
Is it possible to connect a Wii U to a monitor (that has no built-in speakers or an audio-out jack) via. HDMI and output the sound another way?
watkinsx2
Something like this would do it: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00H8T1DJ8/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_2?pf_rd_p=569136327&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B00BBE77H8&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=195FWWB6TXM6NSA4YVK5
Liana
Plugging in headphones or any other audio output device into the headphone jack on the gamepad causes all audio to be routed through there and immediately mutes the TV, at least this has been my experience. Otherwise you can do this: http://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1545/~/how-to-use-the-wii-u-console-with-an-external-speaker-system which is hooking up and using a Wii/Wii U AV cable for audio while still using HDMI for video, then changing a setting in the Wii U Settings menu to "both" for output. Hope this helps
