Laughing-Man
stalker is way overrated by you people.it has very nice realisticly looking textures, but beyond that it's very average. it's lighting system is nothing ground breaking, it's physics system is nothing special either. level detail is not that insane too. you might say otherwise right now, but once you play the game you'll see why i was right  I think the story and the overall atmosphere is going to be great though. That is a big factor also.
Nightburn
FarCry will use the crytech 3d engine which looks very promising. Check out the crytech engine demo on FarCry site. I believe it could very well compete with doom3/hl2.... only time will tell.

Neztea
In my own opinion, I believe that this game will make it alongside with Half life 2 and doom3. Now, don't get me wrong, ubi is a good company for makin games, they are the ones that brought us Oni and Halo, and halo 2, when it comes out eventually . After looking through the physics engine, i was quite impressed on how things were layed out, such as the different damages that different body parts take (much like Deus EX). but these new games that are comming out seem to have more potential than ever to become magnificant games. I say, Lets see how these games turn out, and if they're great, they are, and if there're not.. well.. Thats another story. John_M
Ummm, sorry to burst your ego bubble, but Halo 2 will be better. Halo one, produced not my ubi, but my Bungie, made a hefty hundred or so million, I think was the amount and our guys say it'll make that and probably twice as much for 2. Trust me, it's better. Trust me, it's better. Please tell me this is a joke. You cannot possibly believe that Halo 2 is going to be better then Doom 3 or Half-Life 2. Halo had the most repetative single player component ever. The levels and enemies were so similar that I wanted to puke going through the single player game. Just thinking about it gives me a headache because it was so painful. The only thing that saved it was multiplayer and to me it was nothing more then a scaled down Tribes 2. I will never let any bit of Halo or Halo 2 touch my computer.

Yea for X-Box. Look at the other games that X-Box had at the time Halo was released because it had no competition. Half-Life's single player and Halo's single player are not even in the same league. Oooh that's a risky bet man. Even though I worship HL2, practically EVERY Xbox owner is going to buy Halo 2. Halo 2 will outsell HL2 on the first couple of months, but HL2 will steadily sell and sell and sell for years now. Just like HL. And of course HL2 will win more awards, it's a more impressive game overall.
matt74441
I'm looking forward to Half-Life 2 because it is going to kick an incredible amount of ***. I'm looking forward to Doom 3 because it looks pretty. I'm looking forward to Halo 2 just because its Halo 2, and I loved the first one. Thats it for 2004, I'll just be playing those three games. I can say with 95% certainty that Halo 2 will not outsell HL2, ever. And HL2 is leaps and bounds ahead in every catagory.

sanctified Veteran Posted December 26, 2003 Veteran Share Posted December 26, 2003 hahahahaha!! all this arguing about graphics and physics engine when all that counts is storyline and gameplay, the very beggining of this thread is flawed since those games cant be compared, just wait people, just wait and play what you want

I seriously doubt that one of the top, if not the top, PC game of all time's sequel will be beat out by Halo 2 even in the first month of sales. Lets see the stats: Amount of HL copies sold: Over 8 million retail units sold Awards: 50 Game Of The Year awards, and was named "Best PC Game Ever" by the gaming magazine PCGamer. Source: Link. Amount of Halo Copies: 3 million Xbox copies sold Source #1: Link. Source #2: Link. Awards: Link. Various awards, but not nearly as much game of the year awards. You can do the math, the Halo franchise is not even in the same league as Half-Life. So betting my life savings is not risky at all. It is a sure bet as if I was betting that the GameCube has better graphics then the NES. Edited December 26, 2003 by jmole
