Lazy8s
Hi all, I couldn't pass up $177 USD (with Amazon Prime) for the specs on this today. I'll be swapping out the hdd with an intel 550 series SSD, and using it strictly for family business. I think I got the last one in stock at that price. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CSH11RO?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 It seems solid enough in reviews, but actual user experiences are always appreciated. Thanks folks
+virtorio MVC Posted June 20, 2015 MVC Share Posted June 20, 2015 I used an EliteBook (back before they used the EliteBook branding) for several years and it was really good. It still works fine today, at about 7-8 years old.

Circaflex
I have used various models of the elitebook and have had great success with them. Solid machines that is for sure. For the price, its one heck of a steal! Solid design and very sturdy; our machines at work are swapped between users and take a nice beating but had withstood everything thrown at it. Lazy8s
Thanks Circaflex! Posts like that get me excited about my "new" toy arriving. Quite frankly, I'm considering grabbing another one while the prices are hot lol.
binaryzero
I manage a fleet of EliteBook 8460ps - they're not bad machines. Was my full time machine until I built a new desktop few weeks back.
nhjay
I used the 8440p for four years as my primary work PC. It was a great performer for email, browsing and various development tasks with Visual Studio. I ran Win 7 Ent on it, i5-540 if I recall correctly with 8GB and 500gb had. It was a great machine. Lazy8s
Great feedback The only downside is I have to wait until Saturday for it lol. Thanks guys
binaryzero
Didn't realise I have a room full of 8440ps lol. They're good at taking space up atm.
SharpGreen
I've an 8460p that I really love that I've had for 2 or 3 yrs now. Though the screen on mine likes to glitch out until I poke/pluck a spot in top center. Other than that, best $500 I ever spent. The 8440p doesn't look like it's that much different so probably just as good. My only gripe is that I wish it was a tad lighter though.
T3X4S
My work laptop is an Elitebook Folio - I have only been with the company for 6 months, and this is the only HP I have ever owned, so I cant comment on the Elitebook reliability. However, I will say that was a great little purchase. Throw in an SSD, and max out the RAM - and a clean OS install and it will be a nice little family laptop - enjoy !
