am_fek
Ever since I've had this Powerbook, the speakers have tended to make this annoying clicking noise at semi-regular intervals. This is extremely annoying not just because of the noise it makes, which is quite loud, but also because of the fact that it interrupts the playback in iTunes or any other app that's broadcasting audio. I tried searching the Apple KB a while ago and put it down to ball bearings in the HDD touching one another as the disk puts itself to sleep (as per my Energy Saver settings). But it dawned on me about a fortnight ago that this doesn't happen when I have external speakers or headphones plugged in to the audio jack. It must be a speaker / sound problem. Does anyone else experience this? Sometimes it goes away, but a lot of the time it can get chronic, to the point where it's just clicking over and over so that my iTunes playlist sounds like a skippy CD, only with much bigger skips. Any ideas for a workaround would be greatly appreciated :)
danbalsh
I used to have a similar problem with my iMac but 10.3 fixed it for me, if you've got AppleCare give them a ring and maybe get them to take a look at it.
