mrchetsteadman
I'm building a new computer as you may already know, but I am stuck on the fence on if it should have 2 screens or just one really wide one. Which is better?
Dashel
I like odd numbers for games, evens for production. goretsky and mrchetsteadman 2 Share
T3X4S
2x 4K monitors Even if it is an ultra wide, and you try to "separate" things - it still feels like everything on 1 screen. To truly multiscreen - you need that split. IMO +Dick Montage and mrchetsteadman 2 Share
mrchetsteadman
I like odd numbers for games, evens for production. Makes sense. It will be used more for productivity. Dreamweaver, Photoshop, etc. I play most of my games on my XB1 or the PS4 I'm buying.
goretsky Supervisor Posted June 25, 2015 Supervisor Share Posted June 25, 2015 Hello, My initial thought is to go with two monitors. If one fails for some reason, you can still use the computer. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
The Evil Overlord
I'm currently running 3x 1080 screens (23 inch Packard Bells) Ok it's not to your resolution requirement, but gaming (when supported) is something else
+Nexus18 MVC Posted June 25, 2015 MVC Share Posted June 25, 2015 I would go with 21.9 34" 1440 UW especially if it is for gaming and watching films.
richardsim7
I had 2x 24" monitors, and as they started to die I asked myself the same question. I was very interested in the 34" Ultrawide monitors that were coming out, but then the Philips BDM4065UC came out, a 40" 4K screen, which is basically a 34" ultrawide with the added resolution on top It's the equivalent of having 4x20" 1080p monitors, and it is amazing
+Dick Montage Subscriber² Posted June 25, 2015 Subscriber² Share Posted June 25, 2015 As the owner of an ultrawide, my workflow would be improved by discreet monitors.
Odom Member Posted June 26, 2015 Member Share Posted June 26, 2015 I have the Dell Ultrawide 34'' Curved and I would recommend it even for working. The Dell Display Manager application has 15 different modes of how you can split your screen and arrange your applications. With a tool like that I don't see the benefit of having two separate monitors in order to "separate things". Most Ultrawide monitors have a tool or application like this, just check their websites.
