kak
I put this game on 1024x768 with everything maxed [6x multisampling too] and the game still looks horrible. There are so many jagged lines it's rediculous, adn then my characters have black spots on them during cut scenes. What's up with this? I've patched to 1.1 and using Cat 3.10s..below in the sig are my system specs.
thecowgoesmoo207
turn off the shadows, it'll look 1000000000x better.
FearMeAll
you are using bloooom.. turn that off if you want to use antialiasing and make sure the game menu is set to run at 6xantialiasing just like the control panel or else your fps will drop to 2. Bloom makes the dots appear if you have antialiasing on.

DirtyLarry Veteran Posted December 24, 2003 Veteran Share Posted December 24, 2003 it isnt you the graphics suck in my opinion too... i gave up with this game and all of its problem, before i finally un-installed it my last problem was that textures switched places with each other, so the walls actually had a face texture on them, characters bodies had steel for theeir face, etc. it was actually quite amusing and looked like a salvador dali painting or something and when i went to take a screenshot of it the game crashed or else i would have posted it... so besides barely getting 30 fps at 1024 * 768, i had way to many problems with this game and like i said i un-installed it and may re install it after about 4 patches or so are released... komplexnous
NO KIDDING!!! First off, this game has a horrible framerate! You can say that my system is slow, but I have run so many games out now at 60+FPS (AT LEAST!)!!! This game's framerate is terrible....I would understand if the graphics were sweet, but these graphics are jaggy and uninspired...bloom was put into the game to try to hide this nonsense (little color and physics are bad)!!! WTF is up with the high ratings for this game!?!?!? Sorry to whine so much, but I had to get this out!!! LMAO!!! :woot:
Keldyn
I'm disappointed with this game too. I don't know what else to say about it. (N)
ForkliftDude
download the patch. it allows you to completely disable the dynamic shadows. doing so increases the framerate a lot.
DirtyLarry Veteran Posted December 24, 2003 Veteran Share Posted December 24, 2003 (edited) / edit to above - actually i was happy i was finally able to get 30 fps and play the game do not get me wrong, but once the whole texture thing happened (and i also left out how after i restarted everything was then bright neon rainbow colors) that was pretty much the last straw for me... when i can run every other game released this year (and games with far superior graphics and gameplay in my opinion) at 1600 * 1200 max settings and then have this game unplayable no matter what i do that leads me to believe it is just a poorly programmed game that should not have been released to the public yet, its like the public are beta testers for ion storm and thats what gets me so damn angry and adamant about this game sucking so much... if this game was a break through game then maybe i would be more forgiving, but from the 2 levels i was able to play i didn't see anything that special about it at all... nekrosoft13
I'm disappointed with this game too. I don't know what else to say about it. (N) i like it fps are not that great, but i get a constant 30-40fps which isn't bad on medium quality settings and in 1280x1024 resolution
kak
It's definately not a GOTY follow-up. I feel like this is another Halo ported from the xbox. Slow framerates and sticky controls
FatCat
it looks great actually , you need the deus ex config utill and edit your default .ini file with it and set AF to 16 and set the recomended setting and lower the desired framerate and it will look awesome. I don't remember were I got the tweaker and I can't attach it , maybe someone else can help :( btw acid you need to set AA to application preference in both direct3d and opengl and bump down multisampeling in the game to one to get rid of the boxes, I had the same problem. macrosslover
damn, evertime i play the demo, the graphics look good to me, and i was told that the final version would look better because they reduce the textures for the final version. hmm, how can you tell how many fps you're running anyway? I think the game should have remained more true to the original. Deus-Ex was a blend of fps/rpg gaming. Its sequel feels too much like a shooter. It lacks that interactivity and character development that made the first such a success.
