livesoca
Nope! I don't get that error., but I get this though. I have a AMD XP 2500+ laptop, 512MB RAM, ATI Radeon 9000 Mobile. Everytime I quit NFS to go to Windows, my laptop freezes complete. I have to turn it off, then on again. That's why I only play this game on my laptop when I have nothing else to do, or alot of time :D
xRKx
Now if I could just figure out why mine's suddenly messing up. I borrowed it from my neighbor the other day (he got tired of it not working, and in true 'him' fashion - he didn't bother returning or trading it - he just went out and bought a console version,) and last night - it worked beautifully. I was able to play for about 3 1/2 hours in one sitting without a single problem. Today, however? I wish! I can't even get past the third (I think?) tournament, because I can't play the game long enough. I'm lucky if I can finish a single 2 lap drift race before my computer either reboots, or the screen turns into... something quite like a screenfull of coloured static. The difference between yesterday and today? I turned off my PC last night. All it took was turning the computer off to make the game no longer play for me. *sighs* I get the sinking feeling that it powered up with a different settings for my video card and it's causing problems - though NFS:U's the only thing that's given me grief. :/
mistical
I get a problem such as that, about 98% of the text is always messed up for me, I have a ATI Hercules 9800 Pro 128MB video card, it was like that with the 3.9 catalyst drivers, and still is with the 3.10, have not decided to downgrade, don't care too much. I installed the game on my laptop, video card is a nvidia geforce fx go5200 with 32mb of ram, and runs just fine, no problems at all or with text... so I am happy for now :)

bangbang023 Veteran Posted December 25, 2003 Veteran Share Posted December 25, 2003 The mipmap details in your driver configuration have to be set to highest or quality (name varies on card company)
