Deeply sad news from Japan this Sunday evening, Nintendo have announced the death of Satoru Iwata the current Nintendo president.

From everyone here at Nintendo Life we extend our deepest sympathies to Mr Iwata's family, friends and co-workers.

He will be sorely missed. Thank you Iwata-san.

May he rest in peace. His contribution not only to Nintendo, but the whole video game industry will not be forgotten.

Way too young to go.

In japan they live a long time.

I am not sure how tbe health care is there... but my friend who worked there for a year was surprised as the number of Really old people....

Guess he was just unfprtunate to pull the shorter string in the game of life.

RIP

?????????

I imagine he meant :( and accidentally did :D - It happens sometimes.

Edit:

R.I.P. :(

He did the same thing in the Patrick Macnee thread

Or maybe he's someone who enjoys hearing about the death of others :s

Nonetheless, 55 is young. I thought his health issues were deatl with. Didn't he miss last year's E3 or something because he had to be hospitalised?

Except the 'd' is on the other side of the board to the '9', He'll reap what he sows, I'm sure
