[VS Preview] XP Amp

On the whole it looks great but I don't like the "XP amp" words at the bottom left of the start menu.

how about u try making a skin its not as easy as you think. im pritty sure you cant make the line exactly like winmps because if the title is bigger than "winamp" it will overlapp the lines and look ugly

I've never completed a visual style, but I'm aware as to how difficult making a visual style is and I stated that the skin is good work. But if he's aiming for a duplicate of the Winamp skin, there are a few things that he will need to changed. I posted a comment as such. Just because I'm not kissing his feet doesn't mean I need to be "put in my place".

I kinda agree with Divide Overflow here .. you dont worship someone cause he made a good looking VS, and they DID ask for our opinions if they posted about it in a public forum like neowin .. The Question is, are they trying to create an exact winamp5 style, or just something inspeired by it .

There are somethings [like the caption text in the middle and the two bars] that cant be done, but we made the visual style based on the design of the skin, from our points of view it's pretty close, but using its graphics to make a VS is pretty hard cuz you have to use graphics that weren't meant to what your doing...

If you get denied permission because of some of the graphics, would you still change it around enough to release it? Perhaps simply remove or replace the lightning bolt logo of theirs?

I can vouch that this is one of the best VS's ever made IMO. The wallpaper submitted earlier goes great with it as well. Good work in finishing this in record time guys!

Really love this skin. Seems like a skin u can use a very long time without getting bored of it. Hoping for a quick release.

how is it taking so long? it took 5 days to make. that's a lot faster than most visual styles posted here. we just have to sit on it basically until we get some replies about the permissions.

when i get home from work i'll do the compact start panel, and figure out what other colors we should add...

I do know the window text can be centered. Check out the OSXP styles like this one:

As far as the bar in the middle of the window title, I am not so certain that can be done without the title text overlapping the bar itself. Personally, I'd try to make one myself, but I'm really reluctant to install StyleBuilder since it requires TGT Soft's Style XP software. I prefer uxtheme.dll patches.

Yeah, the text CAN be centered what cant be done is that bars at both sides that change of size depending on the text size, [see the WINAMP caption and you'll see what I mean]

Yeah, I've done most of the graphics, StevoFC is helping me a lot and he brought the start panel concept :) I couldn't have finished it without his help :D

I went to WinAmp and noticed at the bottom of the page it list all those who are registered quest. Your name was listed. More importantly the name of the various moderators are listed in bold print. One of the moderators is Will. If you check his profile it shows two the things he is responsible for. (1) WinAmp Development (2) Modern Skins.

As a suggestion you should return to WinAmp and pm him as well as email him. The forum page shows he located in the UK.

Can you tell we're all anxious to get our hands on this GREAT new visual style???!!!
