Im gonna go out and buy a gamecube game tommorow and its gonna be either Zelda: The Wind Waker, Mario Kart: Double Dash or Animal Crossing, the problem is I cant decide which!

Ive always been a Zelda fan after playing Ocarina of Time for n64, Im wondering if the Wind Waker lives up to OoT? Mario Kart is simply in there cause I plan to get it anyway (whether its now or a few months later down the track) and cause it looks cool (again, Ive got its n64 counterpart, is it worth buying over these other two?)

Finally I have no idea about Animal Crossing, as far as I know its something like real time make your own life through the world, seems to reasemble Harvest Moon (which I thought was pretty cool) and I figure the real time clock will be a nifty thing. Two things though, firstly, will it require me to be on there 24/7 or at least once a day to "keep up appearances" since sometimes I can go without playing for months at a time I dont want to have to get on there every day just cause I have to. Secondly is it any good?

thx :D

Wind Waker didn't live up to OoT for me personally although it's a very, very good game, Mario Kart is a travesty and I'm a massive, massive fan of the series. Animal crossing is supposed to be really good but I wouldn't know because it's never, ever going to be released in Europe.

F-Zero GX would be on my list.

Personally I loved Windwaker, and enjoyed it more than Ocarina of Time.

As for Animal Crossing, you can import it from Australia and play it without a boot disc because they use the PAL system there too.

I havent found F Zero GX here yet, Im leaning towards The Wind Waker at the moment, I may or may not be able to get my sister to split halves in Double Dash (since its MP and she can play it and stuff).

Animal Crossing may have to wait, since its realtime Im not sure whether Id have to get on there every day to feed soemthing or something like that :p

You'll enjoy Wind Waker more, but Mario Kart will last you longer, so long as you have someone to play against. If you're not going to play multiplayer Mario Kart it's not really that good a purchase. Animal Crossing I've never played, a friend of mine informs me it's very good though.

ok Wind Waker has been put on hold till I can find a place still selling the extra Disc with it (with OoT on it), I can get Animal Crossing + Double Dash for $150 so Im thinking of going that...

Any other games that I should consider? till the 12th of January Myers has 50% off GC games (though there are none I want atm) any good ones? preferably multiplayer :p

Viewtiful Joe isn't multiplayer, but if you like beat-em-ups it's perfect - especially if you can get it 50% off :D

Timesplitters 2 is good for multiplayer if you want a FPS.

Super Monkey Ball, or Super Monkey Ball 2, are great if you want a variety of multiplayer options on one disc.

Mario Party is obviously good if you want options, with a board game added in.

And for a party fighter Super Smash Bros: Melee is amazing. Soul Calibur 2 for the fans of a deep fighter.

Madden and/or NBA Street 2 would be great for multiplayer sports. SSX3 for extreme sports.

It depends what you want. They are all so different.

Here is my opinion on a few genres:

Best GC...

Racing: NFSU

Futuristic Racing: F Zero GX

RPG: Zelda - Wind Waker

Party: Super Smash Bros Melee (I never liked Super Monkey Ball and neither did my mates)

FPS: Timespliters 2

FPS Multipler: Timesplitters 2

Beat 'em Up: Soul Calibur 2

Platform: Viewtiful Joe (OMG this game is my favourite EVER! :woot:)

I know I cheated by having 2 racing games but you need to own them both as they are so damn good :D :woot:

OOooOOooOOooOOoh! whoever polled this thanks, great idea!! :D

I think Viewtiful Joe was going cheap in the 50% off range so I might check that out, Ive read te reviews for F Zero GX and it didnt really appeal to me that much, Ive already got SSB: Melee which is pretty cool :D I havent seen Timesplitters 2 but I usually leave FPS's to PC, same with NFS:U (yeah I know its not an FPS, but I dont see the point in buying it for both pc and gc)

Anyone played Mario Party 4? (again, 50% off) Is it worth paying for and more importantly, will it screw up the controllers like the Mario Party series for n64 did? (it made the center joystick "loose" as all buggery with all the spinny games).

Thanks a bundle :D

Well I'm voting for Animal Crossing. [My vote didn't show up]

That game justified my Gamecube purchase. (It kicks ass, if you like that sort of game)

Defiantly Zelda, and maybe the collectors disc or something like that.

yey :D I managed to find a second hand special copy of Zelda which includes the Bonus Disc for $80 so thats now sitting in my tv room, along with Mario Party 4 and Animal Crossing which I got for 50% off at $50 and 007: Nightfire for $15 (that cheap, who could resist!?).

Im gonna go back there tommorow and see if theyve restocked in Double Dash yet or any other games that I can get cheap since Im prolly not gonna buy any more for the next 12 months :p

thanks for the advice guys :D looks like Wind Wakers the majority fav. though
