sdenike
Well instead of posting a few different messages I thought I would combine them into one.... 1st: where is the best place ot purchase ram for the AL Powerbooks? Anyplace besides apple.com? I was at Compusa the other day and I was looking through all their mac stuff but came across no Ram at all. 2nd: GPS? Whats a good one/cheap one, I have done a little research and haven't come up with that much only a few on overseas sites. and lastly is there any like add/remove plus programs out there? I know for the most part to uninstall a program i can jsut drag it to the trash, but a few programs that I have installed over the pat week have installed them selfs to multiple directories. the evn show
1) Just about everywhere will be the same price +/- 5% so if that's you're primary concern then just go wherever is close. Some 3rd party (read: Not apple.com/apple stores) will try to lure your business with free memory upgrades, printers, accessories, etc. Browse around and you might find something like that. 2) I have a fairly good garman etrex handheld gps but it will not work with os x. gpsy appears to do the job with several well known brands. 3) First you click on the icon/folder that you want to un-install. Then you put it in the trash. You may find the preferences for files in ~/Library or /Library (if it's something like VPC). You can safely ignore these files - they're only a few KB, but if you really want to kill them just search for the applications name to find the left-over files/folders. office, photoshop, and dreamweaver can be uninstalled by running the installer again if you're so inclined. I'm sure others can be as well. ps: any plain old DDR 266 notebook memory should work in a new powerbook.
